Village Bank team members boost Newton/Brookline Relay for Life^®

	Newton residents John, Mary and Sharon Dillon were part of The Village Bank team at the American Cancer Society’s Newton/Brookline Relay for Life

AUBURNDALE, MASSACHUSETTS, June 6, 2008 … Nearly three dozen Village Bank employees and family members rallied for the American Cancer Society’s Newton/Brookline Relay for Life at Newton South High School over the weekend of May 30- June 1, helping the event reach its goal of $30,000.

Team Captain Deb Gowins ensured that there was a Village Bank representative on the track at all hours of the night and early morning and — between the 17 walkers, a plentitude of workers, and stirring entertainment – the Bank was well-represented and noted for its enthusiasm. Newton Mayor David B. Cohen presented a plaque to Village Bank representatives Susan Paley and Sharon Dillon, thanking the Bank for its sponsorship and support of the event.

Other Village Bank employees participating in the Relay were: Andrea del Grosso, Eileen Colella, Julie Fitzpatrick, Kim Gillis, Claire Messina, Marie Magni, Mike Dion, Jack Leslie, Joseph De Vito, Debbie Conzo, Slater Cram, Brian Cartun, Jill Cooper, Kim Gillis, Lisa Sumans, Ed McCarthy, Linda Romano, and Suzanne DiCarlo.

Family members joining in included: John and Mary Dillon, Elaine Dion, Mike Dion, Mary Gowins, Chris Leslie, Ron Rousseau, Marty Paley, Emily Paley (captain of her own team, 28-lap walker, and entertainer), Jeff Ohdner, and Alex Santos. 

The Village Bank’s Jeff Tucker served as captain of the Newton Rotary Club’s Relay for Life team for the Newton/Brookline event, and the Bank’s Wayland branch sponsored its own team at the Weston/Wayland Relay for Life at Weston High School the same weekend.
